Why Volunteer?

Volunteer Opportunities       
Personnel Requirement
Meals on Wheels Drivers Need at least 5-7 volunteers to deliver meals to homebound seniors 5 days a week
Meal Site Assistant At least 2-4 volunteers needed 5 days a week to serve food, deliver food to tables and clean up afterwards
Friendly Callers Number of volunteers needed is dependent on the number of seniors who would like to be called.  Typically we need 4 
SHIIP Volunteers Goal is to have at least 3 SHIIP Volunteers throughout the year
Assist with Special Events Need a volunteer to help plan special events 
Activities Need teachers for the following: arts and crafts, painting, writing and other topics if a teacher offers
BINGO Need a volunteer to set up, call BINGO and take care of game after
Exercise Instructor Need at least 1-2 volunteers to instruct exercise classes such as Zumba, Yoga, Walking Trails, or any other type of exercise instructor offers
Community Service Volunteers  
Health and Medical (Psychologists & Social Workers) Alzheimer's Support Group, Grief and Loss Support Group 

Check blood pressure and glucose levels
Income Tax (CPA Certified Public Accountants, bankers) Prepare simple federal and state income tax returns for the tax season February 1st through April 15th
Legal (Attorneys) Prepare simple wills, durable powers of attorney for health care and property

Medicare SHIIP Counselors, federally funded by the Senior Health Insurance Information Program
